What is our Fit Finder Process?
Our Fit Finder Process is a way of helping The Running Well Store’s FIT GURUs determine which shoe is best for you.
To start our process, we will talk to you about what activity you are currently involved in, what footwear you are currently wearing, any future aspirations or goals with running or walking, and any previous injuries.
How Does Our Fit Finder Process work?

Step 1.
You will be greeted by a friendly face when you enter the store for your running shoe fitting. We will explain the entire process in further detail and get you on your way to a better fit.

Step 2.
To begin your running shoe fitting at The Running Well Store, you will start in your stocking feet and we will ask you to run or walk on the treadmill for around 20 to 30 seconds. This will allow us to look at how you are landing, where on your foot you are landing, and for any misalignments biomechanically within the ankles or knees. We will record this information for analysis with you.

Step 3.
Once we have finished recording your running or walking, we will show you a frame by frame replay of your movements. By looking at how you move, taking into consideration your running goals and any previous injuries, we can determine what type of shoe will suit you best.

Step 4.
We use this stride analysis to ensure that we find the shoe that works best for you. Comfort is key, as well as sizing and the mileage you plan to run. At The Running Well Store we have a wide variety of running and walking shoes, from speed shoes to cushioned shoes to supportive footwear – there is something for everybody!
While you don’t need to book a stride analysis in advance, but please note that during peak times there may be a short wait.

Step 5.
The Run Well Guarantee. Run, walk and work in your new shoes for 30 days. If you do not like them you can bring them back for an exchange or store credit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to wear any specific clothing to participate in the Fit Finder Process?
Our clients wear anything that makes them comfortable. We have business professionals after work, nurses in scrubs, high school athletes after practice and busy moms in jeans. Just know that we will have you on the treadmill for about 15-30 seconds and will have you testing a variety of the footwear options.
Do I wear my shoes during a stride analysis?
You do not! In order to see the pronation of your foot, we need you to be in light-colored socks. If you don’t have a pair, we have a clean pair ready for you to borrow.
If I forget my socks can I still do a stride analysis?
Heck yeah! Our stores are stocked to the brim with clean 100% polyester athletic socks that you can use for free. If you like the way they feel, we know where you can get a pair 😉
Are walk-ins welcome?
Of course! Walk right into the store and one of our trained FIT GURUs will greet you immediately. Every employee in the store is trained to give a stride analysis and fit you for your perfect shoe.
How long does the stride analysis take?
The stride analysis takes less than a minute. However plan on being in-store for 30-40 minutes while our Fit GURU measures, finds and observes you in a variety of shoes until we find the perfect fit!
Do I need to make an appointment?
Nope! While we don’t recommend wearing a full business suit to your stride analysis, our Fit GURUs are prepared to serve our clients as they are! We have clean ready-to-wear socks for you should you forget yours and we’re able to get you in and out in about 40 minutes from start to finish!
I'm not a runner. Is this store still for me?
